Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:

The AR/AP Specialist is responsible for various duties related to maintaining accurate and current accounts receivable with national retailers and accounts payable with vendor representatives.

 

Job Functions:

The position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Submit vendor remittances timely
  • Track and reconcile orders placed with payments received documenting discounts, returns and other chargebacks
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies between remittances from the retailer and the units shipped by the warehouse (e.g. carton shortages)
  • Work with vendors to resolve discrepancies and vendor inquiries
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving reports; research discrepancies
  • Generate AR and AP aging reports monthly
  • Perform roll forward of accounts receivable and accounts payable on the balance sheet
  • Generate monthly commissions statements to vendor representatives
  • Upon approval, issue checks to vendors and vendor representatives
  • Perform other accounting duties as requested

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • 3-5 years Accounts Receivable / Payable experience in e-commerce preferred
  • California Driver’s License, in good standing, required.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Personable, proactive and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with vendor representatives in a friendly, courteous manner
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

 

Physical Requirements You Will Need:

 

  • Exposure to Cosmetic Product Formulations (including Cosmetic Chemistry and raw materials).
  • Prolonged periods Standing, walking and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.

What We Are Looking For: The Director, Customer Experience is a senior-level role responsible for overseeing the company’s customer service operations and strategy. As a key player in ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty, this role involves overseeing the DTC customer experience, developing customer service policies, interacting with customers to gain insights, and implementing effective service strategies for Black Girl Sunscreen.

What You Will Do: The position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Promptly respond to customer inquiries, or complaints via email or phone
  • Oversee loyalty, recycling and subscription programs
  • Field visits to retail outlets to gain customer insights
  • Maintain records of customer interaction
  • Work closely with fulfillment on customer order processing
  • Communicate & coordinate effectively with other departments as necessary
  • Increase brand narrative through customer interactions

 

We Would Love If You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of customer service management experience
  • Are computer savvy
  • Are organized & adept at multi-tasking
  • Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Have an enthusiastic, positive attitude
  • Have a love for beauty or fashion

 

Must be able to remain stationary for prolonged periods of time.
